Kimberly A. Yeung-Yue, MD, FAADDr. Yue and her husband, Michael, were born and raised in the Greater Phoenix area, where members of their families (the Ong's, Yeung's, Tang's and Yue's) have established themselves and have become active in the community. Her roots in the Valley date back to the late 1800's, before Arizona gained statehood.
Dr. Yue knew that she wanted to become a doctor since early elementary school, modeling her love for science, medicine and helping others after her father, an orthopedic surgeon. She met her husband during high school at church, where they played in the volleyball and softball leagues together and picked up interests in singing praise music and playing guitar. After Dr. Yue graduated from Saguaro High School, they began their 16-year adventure around the country pursuing her medical career.
Dr. Yue was a biology major at the University of California, San Diego. She quickly realized that dermatology was a perfect fit for her when she volunteered at the VA Hospital's Dermatology Clinic. This interest continued to grow through medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and through her internship at the University of Texas-Houston. Dr. Yue spent three years as a Sub-Investigator for numerous clinical drug trials under Stephen Tyring, MD, PhD in Houston and George Murakawa, MD, PhD in Detroit for conditions including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hair and nail fungal infections (tinea), herpes simplex, herpes zoster (shingles), cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, basal cell carcinoma, human papilloma virus (the wart virus), and HIV. She completed her dermatology residency training at Wayne State University in Detroit, where she served as Chief Resident.
During their trek around the country, Dr. Yue and her husband were musicians in several praise worship bands at church, married, had two children, and loved to explore the local sites in the cities where they lived. However, they are happy to finally be back home in the Valley to be closer to their families.
Dr. Yue is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She practices general dermatology for all ages and has a particular interest in educating people about how to protect themselves from the harmful effects of the sun.
